After going to a few of their events you can tell they’re putting in the effort, the parties my friends and I have gone to are already better than some other groups on campus. The ones I met seemed friendly and pretty down to earth. Will be going back soon.

Internally, I think that Alpha Gam has a strong sisterhood. People who end up rushing AGD usually stay AGD for the full time that they are at Chapman which is great and unlike many "top" house chapters on campus. They have some of the highest GPA's within Greek Life and they have some great leaders not just in the chapter but in positions on campus as well. Yet, they do not know how to show the rest of Greek Life how their sisterhood is strong. They have extremely low participation in popular Greek life events like Banner and Chant, Airbands, Skit and other philanthropy events on campus. Many PNM's going through recruitment have not even heard of them which ultimately results in those PNM's dropping AGD on the first day, which is so sad since AGD's are sweethearts. They would benefit from a complete re-brand to their chapter. Get girls excited to participate on campus, get your name out there, think of a more interactive philanthropy event to put on, interact more with other frats/sororitys on campus, implement a yearly overnight retreat etc...

Honestly, Pi Phi is still too new to campus to have a stereotype which is good or bad depending on how you view it. So I'll start with the pros to joining this chapter. PROS: -New to campus so it is easy to mold the sorority into what you want it to be -Diverse group of gals, not everyone is the same personality type nor do they all look the same -Even though they're new, they are not "bottom" house (if that's important to you) -Nationally, they are a strong sorority. -Easy to snag a leadership position. While all of this is great, there are definitely some cons. I'm really not trying to bash them, this is just my honest opinion on what they lack as a chapter and need to work on. CONS: -The on-campus presence is lack-luster. Rarely will you see a group of Pi Phis hanging out together which tells me that their sisterhood is weak. This could be because they are such a diverse group of women and they don't necessarily have the same values like other sororities on campus. -Some of the girls (not all) give the chapter a bad name. They have a reputation for being trashy/uncontrollable/a nnoying at events, which is not a good look. -They have not yet established a strong yearly philanthropy event that they are known for. Hopefully, this changes soon. Ultimately, I think Pi Phi has the potential to grow into a fantastic chapter but for now they are trying to figure out how they fit into the Greek Life at Chapman. In terms of "ranking", I would put them above AGD (that's a whole other story) and equal to (if not above) Tri Delta. However, I do not believe that they are on the same level as Kappa/Gphi/Theta (as some may try to argue). The newest pledge class seems to be a step in the right direction as it seems to be more cohesive than it has been in the past, but we'll see what happens.

Kappa is climbing up the ladder in terms of popularity. Their pledge classes have become more and more cohesive each year. That being said, they are extremely selective during recruitment, even more so than the "top" houses at Chapman. I think they are a bit too quick to judge, but they clearly know what they want in terms of the direction they are trying to go in. They are still relatively new on campus but would put them on the same tier as Gamma Phi Beta.
