quick questions

by: Curious Georgina

I was thinking of going through recruitment this fall and had some questions.

Does GPA matter? Like I get that some sororities have higher GPA's so they might look for girls who follow that trend but do they notice that first and then check the person second?

I'm a second year and had a tough year last year, too many family deaths and stress, which I really let affect me. (not that anyone really cares, nor is this the point of my post)

What would be a benefit of joining ZTA, instead of going to another sorority? And is there any perks in being a founding mother? (also what is that?)

Thanks!

If you want to be a founding member for ZTA go for it, but you have to build a chapter from the ground up.

there are no members, no relations with fraternities, no formals, etc.

GRADES ARE IMPORTANT! but not everything. some chapters have really high GPAs because they care about school (DZ and A Phi, but from what i've heard A Phi is better).

Every sorority is understanding of your situation but don't just talk about that at the tables. Grades are important but they don't just look at that. If you join ZTA you get to be part of history and say I'm a founding mother of ZTA

Actually not going through with recruitment since I'm taking the semester off. Hope everyone finds their house!

There is no way sororities can verify GPAs, so go ahead and do what most going through recruitment do...inflate your GPA. If your high school average was 3.75 inflate it to 3.85. Always give a GPA for college above 3.25. Believe me, right or wrong most of the girls do this. A sorority legally cannot have access to your grades unless you are a member.
