What can we as a greek community do to band together and convince city council to allow us all to place letters on our houses

Nothing, long beach laws prohibit it

They won’t change the law - you have to buy an old former greek house. That’s it that’s the secret

The fraternities can put letters on a house if it is located
in a Commercial zone. The sororities have a conditional use
permit to allow them to put letters on their house in a
residential zone. Back in the late 50's and early sixties
the City would not grant the fraternities to place letters
on a house in a residential zone and requires the fraternities to live in a Commercial Zone.

All eight of the Panhellenic sororities have houses that have their own letters. I don't see why Fraternities can't have letters as well. It's too bad the city of Long Beach has an outdated law regarding greek letters on housing.
