sorority rushing
by: seniorDo certain sororities have a 3.0 or above gpa as a cutoff for getting a bid from those sororities or are every sorority here at Long Beach flexible with GPA as long as the GPA is a 2.0 or above? For example, my GPA is around a 2.8 or 2.9. Will my gpa prevent me from getting into a sorority that requires at least a 3.1 or 3.0 and above to get a bid?

As much as I hate to admit it, the above is sort of true. Mostly, sororities don't care about GPA if they like you. If a sorority likes you they will be fine with whatever your GPA is. Most people know that GPA has nothing to do with how smart you are, or how academic you are. If you're going to take easy classes like communication majors, you'll have a good GPA, but you're not pushing yourself or growing. A lot of people know that GPA is not authentic, and of no value.
