new chapters ?

Any new chapter will need to have alumni support when they colonize here.
For sororities, I believe that Alpha Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Kappa Alpha Theta would be logical choices as most have chapters at local universities including: USC, UCLA, LMU, UCI, and a larger pool of alumni in the area.
Phi Mu, Kappa Delta, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Phi Epsilon have limited chapters in Southern California and are mostly based in other parts of the country.
For fraternities: Lambda Chi Alpha, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi for the same reasons as the sororities: local chapters and a strong alumni network to support any new colonies.

If you're referring to sororities, they tend to rely on assistance from other chapters and alumni to help them with recruitment during colonization. AXO, KKG, KAT and Pi Beta Phi have a number of local chapters in Southern California (Los Angeles-San Diego) and alumnae support.
Phi Mu, Kappa Delta, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Epsilon Phi do not have many local chapters in SoCal even though they might have alumane in the area.
For the reasons that I listed this why I believe that KKG, KAT, PBPhi, AXO might be more inclined to consider expansion than the others.

Well is they get a chapter here then they'll have more chapters in So. Cal now , won't they?
