fall
by: KeedoI will be attending this fall and I want to rush - my dad was a OX back in college in Illinois and he raves about being an OX and living in the house and he life long brothers - how is the greek system at CSULB and how are the OX's? I am open to other fraternities - I want to feel comfortable being me, but I know my dad would love to have that OX bond with me - thoughts?

in all honesty man, don’t worry about being the same fraternity as your old man unless it really means that much to you. Find which fraternity you fit in with best and which guys you can see as your lifelong brothers. To answer your question though, Theta Chi does well in the philanthropy aspect of FSL, but overall their chapter is going through a rebuild. They don’t really have a house, it’s an old flower shop in a weird location. Just check out all the fraternities in the fall and find your brothers!

Theta Chi here at Long Beach is a young chapter, half the chapter consists of diverse, silly, hardworking, outgoing 1st years (from my perspective). I always feel happy vibes when I’m around them. They get along with mostly everyone and I feel like if you’re that type of person, you should definitely consider them. I do suggest checking out all houses because you’ll never know what type of people you’ll click with. Good luck on rush! The top houses to consider when rushing are: Sigma Pi, Pike, Theta Chi, Kappa Sigma, Pi Kapp and Phi Tau. The other houses aren’t really relevant.
