sigma pi vs kap sig
by: Mr LigmaAny personal suggestions on which to pledge to? I've been to both, was chill with both. I still find it hard to decide solely on my own intuition when asking them because of course, both will hype up their houses without really detailing the downsides.

So this is my personal opinion as a senior CSULB Greek. I apologize if there’s disagreement but this is just truly my opinion: I’m in a “middle house” but have many friends in top houses so I think that’s more who I party with. Sigma Pi is my favorite house because it’s always a blast and they have lots of yay ;) However they haze the hardest (so I’ve heard) but I think it’s mainly just cleaning - not physical abuse. I’ve had a lot of friends in Sig Pi over the years and have never met someone who dropped so I think they have pretty great retention and brotherhood if you fit in with the personality type. Pi Kapp on the other hand is probably one of my lesser favorites. They also throw great parties and are probably perceived as “top house” based on who they have socials with and whatnot. But the guys have always kid of rubbed me the wrong way because they seemed to care too much about my house and the fact that I wasn’t also in a “top house.” Not a huge deal overall because I learned to find the guys that liked me for me and not just for whatever level of the tier system my house happened to be in that year. I think both houses are pretty solid and if you got a bid from either you should be stoked! Literally just hang out with the guys, see who you mesh with best, and you can’t go wrong.

Wow I’m dumb. I totally read that wrong and thought you said Pi Kapp not Kap Sig. Alright edit: I used to like Kap Sig a lot (like my 100% favorite every single weekend) but in the past two years they seem to have become very “Bro-ish” and (like Pi Kapp) reeealllyyy care about top house and whatever. They have a sick house and awesome parties with a new advisor so I hear. So basically same point as above, just meet the guys and see how you feel!

They are not on suspension but on Probation. Both are appealing that
decision. Don't know that much about Kappa Sigmas situation but the
charge against Sigma Pi was so bogus it is ludicrous. The IFC members
on the judicial board are a poor excuse for a due process system.

I feel like the charges were legit but the punishment was harsh. The school is really making ifc crackdown on that type of stuff which is whack
