junior going through rush
by: ?I'm a junior and a transfer from community college. I keep hearing that the sororities are fine with Juniors and that loads of people go through rush Junior year. Then I hear that the one house I want, Alpha Phi, doesn't take many juniors. Can someone explain all this please ?

Sometimes sororities' nationals require them to take new members that will be able to participate and pay dues for more than a couple of years. As a junior, you are likely to be graduating in two years. (Not trying to be harsh on Alpha Phi, but the reality is that chapters do have to take this into consideration when selecting their new members.) If you realize that you will be attending CSULB for more than two years, you might be able to communicate this to them. Good luck!
