these recruitment videos are so useless
by: FratGirlI honestly think the recruitment videos are sooo dumb. They're literally all the same (no matter how hard you try to argue that, it's true) and they show you nothing about the houses at all. The only people who care about how good the sorority videos are are the other girls already in a sorority. Can PanHel just do us a favor and agree to no longer have these? Honestly, they're so stupid and the chapters put SO much time and money into them

I actually liked my sorority's video but I think mine and zta's are the best ones Ive seen so far

The videos are just goofy! I almost didn't go through recruitment because I saw such stupid videos. I dropped Gamma Phi Beta on the first day because of the dog swimming.

I'm guessing you are a dz, so I will address your video situation; this year was much better than last year. You won the national BASIC -ness award last year with your facial distortions in the camera and peace signs. You still had a few basics this year, and the SUPER BASIC who stuck her tongue out and did some stupid dance on the escalator didn't help you this year, but you got better. Good job. Cut out your dumb basics completely and you will be fine.

I went back and looked at DZ's video. Last year's video got a lot of bad hype for being basic, and I thought this years was so much better. I do agree that the escalator scene had some Basic-ness to it (agree that the girl at the 18 second mark with her tongue out was particularly stupid, and why they had another girl do the peace sign is something we will never know ), but the escalator scene as basic as it was, had a really sweet and upbeat feel to it. I think DZ's video this year was one of the best and maybe even the best.

DZs was just a typical video lol nothing special about it whatsoever. ZTAs was different and starts off super strong and gets a little weird but it' has real videos instead of all staged scenes. Visually not appealing but the thought was cool. GPhi was really good and a big step up from last years. But overall DGs will probably be the best. They're saving the best for last.

People do need to start thinking about the messages they are putting out in these videos. There is nothing wrong with running around in a bikini, but when you go to a job interview, do you really want to know that everyone sitting there has seen you run on the beach in a bikini? Just something to think about.

I agree. All of the national sororities have order from International Headquarters to not put alcohol in the videos, but they end up putting stuff in that is way worse than alcohol.
