i want a particular sorority , but i'm very shy
by: shy girlSo there is a particular sorority I want to be in, but I don't know any of the women in it. I see some of them i the dorms and some in classes, but I don't know them. I've heard that all the sororities are doing spring rush and that it is informal. Do I have a chance of getting in this sorority if I don't already know them?

Alpha Phi likes white girls who are blonde. So if you are that you are good. DZ is more diverse, but they are preppy. Both generally accept around 30-40 girls

Numbers are far lower than 30-40 during spring recruitment because most chapters don't need that many in terms of teaching house total during the spring semester. But definitely go where you feel comfortable and accepted. This leads to an openness and excited feeling for all houses.

I understand that you have an interest in a particular sorority, but my advice would be try and get to know some from every sorority if you can. I know you have said that you're shy, but if you see them in the dorms or classes introduce yourself and let them know you are interested in spring rush. With all sororities expected to participate this spring, hopefully you'll get a positive reception. Check the Panhellenic site for information about when spring rush begins. Then go and visit the sorority tables during spring rush and find out when they're having their events. Good luck!

I'm not OP, but I can understand why she would feel a little creepy just walking up to people and talking to them.

You can understand why it is creepy because at a big school like Long beach it would be awkward to just randomly walk up and say hi.

I 'm not the person who posted above, but I'm in a similar situation. I'm interested in Alpha Phi and Delta Zeta. I'm open to all the sororities though. Do you know how many each will take?
