met some frats at the tables today

by:

I'm an incoming freshman and would like to give my thoughts on the frats that I talked to at the tables today. I was first approached by FIJI and they seemed pretty cool but nerdy and I knew that house wasn't for me. Then, I talked to Pi Kappa Phi and they seemed chill and were easy to talk to. However, when I asked them about philanthropy, all they mentioned was riding bikes to raise money? Next I went to Kappa Sigma and they seemed pretty rowdy. I talked to a dude that was someone calm and basically they said that they like to have a big brotherhood, which I thought was awesome. Then I saw Sigma Chi's huge letters and went to there table. They talked to me about their alumni relations and how their house was close to campus. They also mentioned that I had an opportunity to mold the chapter because they were somewhat new on campus. Finally, I stopped by Theta Chi's table. They said that they like to keep somewhat a low profile but they are very big on philanthropy and mentioned Theta games. Just some of my thoughts of how the first day of tabling went

I'm in a top sorority here on campus, and I can say that all the fraternities have something to offer. It really is just about what coat fits you best. Good luck in the process.

You have to remember however that this is rush and they might look like they're nice just to attract you. I heard Kappa Sigma has a mediocre brotherhood. Theta Chi looks great. They don't look desperate at all for their first rush back in a year. Pi Kappa Phi also looks like a great group of young men. Even sigma chi looks mediocre this year, although they tend to lie a lot from personal experiences with their members. Really there is no "lame" fraternity, it's really where you fit in. FYI, I am also rushing, but over the year at CSULB I got to know how these fraternities really play a role in the Greek system.
