Curious how the sororities rank nationally? This rank is based on rankings from all the strongest, most traditional college campuses across the US. And this national ranking is important because these women you will have an instant connection with for the rest of your life!
Top: Kappa, Theta
Lower Top: PiPhi, KD, ChiO, APhi, DDD
Upper Middle: DG, Zeta
Middle: AXO, Phi Mu, ADPi
Lower Middle: DZ, AOii, GPhi, AXD, SDP
Bottom: Sig Kap, AePhi, SDT, DPE
Unknown: SSS, PSS, ASA, TPA
So the Cal Poly houses look like this nationally:
Top: Theta, Kappa
Lower Top: Chi O, Alpha Phi
Upper Middle: DG
Middle: AXO
Lower Middle: AOpi, GPhi
Bottom: Sig Kap, AEPhi
This doesn't necessarily mean Cal Poly's ranks look like this, but it is definitely something you should considered when you are choosing between two houses on preference night!

of course - that is completely true. But the top houses are consistently top houses at all the top colleges in the US. The bottom may be top somewhere, but probably not a college anyone cares about.
The only point in a national ranking is understanding who your lifetime connections will be with. Because connections matter. And when you have a choice, it makes sense to choose a house with the best lifetime connections.

This is a lousy attempt from middle to bottom houses to make it seem like there is a logical long term pay off for choosing their house. PNMs - go with what you think aligns with what you want your college experience to be, not because you think an affiliation with a top house sorority from the south is going to get you a job?? There’s successful women in every sorority. And alumni from cal poly and the connections you make here will be way more helpful than a loose sorority connection from a girl you’ve never met.

100%!!! Go with the sorority that feels right to you at the college you attend. If you go with this poster’s advice you will miss out on 4 great years of bonding and realistically finding your future bridesmaids and best friends for life! The person posting may be attempting to elevate their own sorority at Cal Poly SLO and putting down a top sorority here too.

Just gonna say from my own experience after two years in slo, the sorority you choose matters. I have an internship in LA this summer and already connected with several really amazing women from my sorority (from other schools) who have gone out of their way to help me.

my sorority no longer gives a pnm any preference for being a legacy. the thought is everyone should have an equal chance to be a member. but I think some sororities still do.
