They didn't HAVE to step in. They chose to. Did you rush this year online? That's not exactly easy to do. You write as if no other sorority or fraternity has had national support. They will probably end up with the best PC because they were smart enough to know that this is new territory and since they have the strongest and largest national support, they will be just fine.

By: confused

they didn't have enough members to recruit because a lot of girls dropped from the cal poly chapter

They are the largest sorority in the US with the most houses and alumnni out of any other. Nationals has stepped in with other houses in the past. It's not unusual. No one has ever done this online before. They are also rated the number one house on the National Collegiate surveys. Maybe they don't party like the others, but they get ahead and benefit from a great sisterhood locally and nationally.

They didnt loose anywhere near 100 girls. most who left were seniors that 'werent ready' to be more inclusive. how many leave your sorority because they don't fit into a clique? Better yet how inclusive is your sorority. Bet there is no need to speculate on that. LOL

To "Confused'
I know who you are, but i'm going to be classy and not mention your name. You specifically said that you were NOT READY to go along w national's desire to be the most diverse how at Cal poly. you were very mad at them because they were "going too fast" and you wanted to "wait till spring". Funny because after spring, you are graduating. You thought you were top dog because you were a senior and nationals checked you. You actually created this post and tried to get as many to leave with you as you could. Stop trying to make your sisters who chose to not listen to you look like the villans. Seriously it's time for you to grow up already and take this post down completely.

You are right. It was a personal choice. Nationals did not have to step in.

Their recruitment video is on youtube. They were very genuine, and talked directly into the camera. Just because they werent running through a field pretending to be someone they are not. I learned the hard way and pledged one of those last year. If I had it to do all over again, I would have taken a good look at them instead of the fake one I joined. What you see in their video is what you get. Any girl lucky enough to get a bid from them won't be sorry. I wish I could have done it over again.

hi, former chi o. most people in that recruitment video dropped after they posted that. it's not a fair representation of the chi o now, because those girls who cared deeply ended up leaving due to mistreatment from national leaders

Stop being bitter already and move on..Just because you left don't give the rest of them a bad name. Chi O is actually doing really well and they all get along. You chose to leave (and probably creqated this post to try and make them look bad but you are failing. We all know what "mistreatment from nationals" means. You were one of the ones who "was not ready" or willing to become more inclusive. Don't blame nationals for how the world is today. you are a senior. you will be out there soon enough. you had three good years there and let "nationals chase you off," but you don't speak for everyone else. Why don't you leave these girls alone and move on. Enough with the bitterness. Wake up and grow up. it's a new world out there.

does 65 new girls mean much when literally EVERY woman of color dropped because of mistreatment and racism by national advisors?

By: 65
by: Q

Yes I do not condone “dropping womxn of color” but that was people’s choice. It was their choice to drop. Some womxn of color and a lot of white ones too. Everyone wants to fix any problem of racism. Check your numbers. There’s still many womxn of color.

I have to commend them for still focusing on diversity stuff, I don’t exactly know what happened in their chapter but most of the other houses didn’t mention inclusion stuff at all and chi o was really open about it during rush and seemed to want to create changes in Greek life. I dropped recruitment but hopefully they do COB

nationals got involved in order to bring in a more inclusive agenda. the girls who feel they were "mistreated" were the ones insisting they were "not ready" to do this. yet here they are with the biggest pledge class and no one has dropped. The bitter few who chose to let themselves get run of probably created this post to begin with. They were happy in Chi-O for 3 years and suddenly left. That's on them. They are not reflective of the direction Chi-O is going and other sororities should follow suit

you sound like a white girl thats upset her bottom tier sorority just dropped even lower

By: re:
by: Aphitoo funny

No this is another so called top tier house with zero diversity trying to make a group of unpretentious girls look bad. They are no different than they were in high school picking on the same girls they did then. Very sad

That is def not the case....Chi O is the ONLY house at cal poly to even emphasize diversity. So if this sounds like a bunch of white girls being bitter, that says a lot about the system in general and not in a good way for this day and age.

Aphi has members who sit on here all day to try and demean others. Sorry Aphi but various shades of blonde or blonde highlights on brown hair (which looks cheap) is not diversity.

The fact that you responded shows you are following this and started this. Im actualy a recent grad and was in AXO. you are trying to bring us down too. Seriously Blonde Wonder, does it make you feel that much better to bring all the other girls down? It shows that what you think is outer beauty makes you that much uglier. Leave these girls alone. Unlike AXO they are not threat to you

The majority of the house as well as nationals really wanted to be more inclusive. Some incoming seniors did not. That's too bad because that's the way the world is now. Also some just had enough and wanted to chill their senior year. Compared to other sororities who loose pledge class members and freshman their first year, i say if they want to leave as seniors they had a good run, but weren't "ready" to be as inclusive and most and nationals wanted

The person who created this post is also the one posting as "confused". She left and tried to take others with her simply because nationals wanted to start their diversity/inclusion program in the Fall. The creator of this post aka "confused" did not want to do that. She is graduating in June and does not speak for the majority in Chi O who are ready for and really want the inclusion. She wanted to "wait till spring" simply because it will be her last sememster and would not have to deal with anythings. She had a fantastic run w the sorority but felt that she was in charge now and nationals coming in threatened her. The sorority is thriving despite the current health situation and these girls are actually taking both diversity and the current health situation very seriously. Despite in person classes many Chi O's are still very involved with campus activities and their sister hood is stronger than ever. Alot of us know who "confused" is. She would be wise to delete this all together before someone does call her out.

What student at cal poly calls the quarter a semester? Does anyone in this thread even go to CP?? Is this chi o nationals acting as students? I’m so confused.

Anyone genuinely interested in this issue should just google Mustang news chi omega.

It doesn’t say how many deactivated, but only 80 were left so that could be about 100 girls deactivated (or their membership was really low to begin with).

Girls deactivated because Chi O nationals was not ready for diversity and inclusion in the fall 2020 recruitment even after the cal poly chapter had worked all summer with them to be as inclusive as possible. Nationals said no. Cal Poly Chi O was ready, Chi O nationals was not.
