I got dropped by almost every sorority

It’s too bad that sororities have to be ranked or have a reputation… There are amazing girls in every house! Theta has some great girls in it And they do not deserve a bad reputation. I actually went through rush as a sophomore because I didn’t know what it was as a freshman… I made a lot of friends in the dorm and had an awesome rush as a sophomore— I wasn’t dropped by any houses that I wanted. Also know it was nothing bad about you but for whatever reason you just didn’t make a connection with someone in the house. If I were you I would wait and go through rush as a sophomore— More options!

Ik how you feel recruitment can be tough and I've been in your place. A lot of times it's a numbers game too. If you feel like you connected with girls and didnt get bids, they probably still loved you. I'd recommend trying one of those two out and if you don't like them then drop and go through COB!

Do COB it's so much better than formal recruitment

I personally know an amazing girl that was dropped by all but two houses last fall and ended up pledging one of the top houses through COB. Formal recruitment is too rushed and dependent on hitting a great conversation with someone. If you randomly end up talking to a girl with shared interests or life experiences, then you have a leg up in getting a bid. Sometimes you have good convos, but none that make you a top PNM for the house.
Don't give up. Get to know girls in the different houses from your dorms or social groups and try again through COB.

I’m so sorry that happened to you 🥺 I rushed as a second yr and found my home today. I think theta is such a wonderful place and I would’ve been happy there as well! Maybe give theta a chance if they have COB in the future. I know so many amazing womxn in that chapter and you shouldn’t listen to stupid rankings.

Maybe your priorities were off. Alot of the top houses that look so great end up losing members bc on the inside they are rotten to eachother. Remember that. Better to be with a nice group than a nasty one. Also with online recruiting this year maybe it wasnt quite clear. Do you know alot of these girls already?
