Should I rush Beta Theta Pi?
by: Class of 2024Hi I’m an incoming first year and I had a few questions about rush. Firstly is Cal Poly going to be virtual for Fall 2020 because if so, I guess I can’t rush anyways... Also how likely am I to get a bid at Beta Theta Pi if my dad was in it? And what’s their reputation on campus? I heard about the waterboarding thing but that seemed kinda stupid to me (did they get in trouble for it?) so I don’t really care unless they actually haze like that

They didn’t get in trouble for any of that stuff I don’t think, it seemed like something that was done in a group of friends or something like that. I’ve never heard about any hazing stuff coming from them so you’re good in that neck of the woods. Typically if you’re a legacy anywhere you’re going to be much more likely to receive a bid so I’d say you’re chances are pretty good
