there is only one real fraternity at cp.
by: Fraternity Expert
Attention QUALITY guys thinking about joining a fraternity. There is ONLY one REAL fraternity here at Cal Poly that fraternity is Delta Upsilon.
A TRUE fraternity involves LIVING with your brothers just as you did growing up in your family. Delta Upsilon has the ONLY purpose built fraternity mansion where most of its members live together to form a true BROTHERHOOD. All other fraternities are FAKE fraternities more like a social club where a FEW of their members live in a small rented TRACT HOME. You will not be experiencing a true fraternity experience in these FAKE fraternities, they are just SOCIAL CLUBS, not TRUE FRATERNITIES. You might as well become a member of an on campus CLUB or the Elks Club or Kiwanis Club or COSTCO where you membership might be worth something.
Come visit the #1 fraternity at Cal Poly and the ONLY TRUE FRATERNITY. Because Delta Upsilon has the highest standards and turns away more rushees than all the other fraternities combined, we are EXTREMELY PICKY because we will be LIVING TOGETHER unlike these social clubs where the members might only see each other every few months they tend to all BLANKET Bid just to collect dues for their “Social Club” gatherings, since all the other fraternities have dozens of clics many people don’t even meet all the members of their houses since they don’t live under one roof.

As a grad student and fraternity member from a University with a large Greek system ( BTW I am not DU) I must agree, I noticed the fraternities here at Cal Poly don’t really have live-in homes. I don’t consideres those real fraternities. I lived in a fraternity ΣΑΕ that houses over 200 guys. When you don’t live under one roof you are just a social club not a fraternity.

I am also in Grad School and I also completed my undergrad at a University where 166 guys lived in the house. I can't agree more the fraternities at Cal Poly are more social clubs than fraternities same with sororities here.
