i didn't get into a frat

I am currently a freshman I didn't get a bid from any frats just interviews and all my friends heard back and I didn't. My fall quarter sucked ass because I wasn't in a frat. Now my winter and spring quarter are gonna suck. Are there any back up options??????????

You probably rushed the wrong houses. If you only rushed “top tier” fraternities but you are not super-outgoing or not exceptionally attractive you probably would not get a bid the top fraternities bid only 10-/5% of rushees.

You may have to set your expectations lower, those fraternities are all considered middle tier or higher and are still very selective. There are lower tier fraternities and recent “ colonies” that are certainly looking for members that will probably be much easier to get a bid. Unfortunately fraternity rush is like a male beauty pageant. Fraternities want the best looking guys that will pull hot girls, basically the higher rated the fraternity the more selective they are. If you are overweight and not that attractive even though you might have a great personality, your personality will not shine though in the few minutes that you talk with the actives. If you are out of shape not considered attractive plus have a reserved personality it will be difficult to get a bid except from the bottom tier fraternities or recent colonies who pretty much bid anyone, you could still have a great brotherhood however.

I’m sorry dude that sucks. The best thing you can do now is find friends outside Greek life or hopefully get closer to guys in frats you know you would like. There’s a bunch of guys that come out for rush as second years so just made the connections now and re rush.
