Delta Zeta - ΔΖ Sorority Ratings at GVSU

I really tried not to judge a a whole sorority by just a few bad interactions, but after a couple years now, I can’t even try to defend Delta Zeta anymore. I went through recruitment as a freshman and was super excited to talk to DZ because there was a lot of hype around them, but I’m so glad I was dropped and that DZ craze I had wore off. My friends that went DZ all always have some **** to talk about their “sisters”. The amount of people I know who have had just straight dehumanizing experiences with DZ is so concerning. I don’t know what their E-board is missing, but it’s genuinely insane. I know there’s some girls who are really kind there, but for the most part, they’re not happy. The girls are very pretty, but the amount of ego that this sorority has built for itself is beyond insane. Beauty is such a spectrum, and they are not special just because they’ve curated a group of girls that fit one (oddly specific) standard. I’ve hung around these girls with my roommates, I go to the parties they go to, I go to the classes they go to, and the amount of intense **** talk, racism, homophobia, and other outlandish things that come out of their mouths is so disgusting. I know it’s not everyone, but it’s a very uncomfortably large majority. Also girl code doesn’t exist here, that’s not a lie. I’d like to think that there were just a couple isolated incidents of DZ girls pulling some **** to infringe on someone else’s relationship, but again, it happens way too often. There’s just a mean girl culture there and nobody does anything about it. If you’re a DZ reading this and any of this applies to you, cut the bull****. You’re the reason for the downfall of your own sorority. An entire world exists outside of that hell house and you’re gonna learn the hard way that nobody outside your bubble gives a **** about your sorority. Stop using it as a status symbol. The rest of campus is laughing at you, not with you.

they might be pretty...but they're also pretty b i t c h e y. if your brand is on par with high school mean girls...this is the place for you!!! but seriously, this is a warning. all of your high school bullies rush dz. steer clear if you can't deal with mean girls. and welcome home if you are one!

They put on a facade and once you’re initiated the claws come out. If they don’t like you, expect to be accused of stupid things and brought to standards. If you join and you don’t fit into the mean girl lifestyle then it’s likely they’ll force you out. You will drop. Look elsewhere or don’t join a sorority

All the girls are super fake and don’t care about anything other than boys and partying and just are lowkey all mean girls

luckily i found my home elsewhere but i just had to say that my experience talking with dz was the worst of all the houses i talked to. so fake. so forced. i could tell they didnt want to talk to me bc i didnt fit their little vibe. questions were so surface level and i swear to god a girl rolled her eyes after she walked me to the door. yeah i saw that. i had no opinion of dz before rush and they left me with a bad taste in my mouth. it was like walking into a room full of my high school bullies

dz made my life miserable and stressed me the fu ck out. my bid day was fun and great but once that was over they were picking favorites and literally no one talked to me and was mean and rude when i asked questions or didn't understand something. if you arent a mean girl you aren't going to survive dz. i guess mean girls need a place to be too lol but this is a warning to the girlies who can't deal with that. do not rush dz.

every time I've talked to a DZ girl she's been rude simply bc im not in a sorority. they are always so entitled and sassy. also heard one casually say the n word. DZ on bottom

Just got done with going through recruitment and dz was my top house and had very sweet and loving girls. This is true sisterhood.

Amazing sisterhood. Gets out in community, helps others, fun, driven, motivated, and gorgeous. Highly recommend!

After a great weekend of rush, I am excited to see what waits for me tomorrow and I hope it is a bid from DZ. I loved everything about them. They were genuine, sweet, thoughtful and kind. I believe they get negative comments because they are the top house in campus, and they should be.
