There's a lot of posts on here about comparing the sororities... But i'd really love to know more about rush. Past experiences, advice, what to wear, or anything else you'd want to share about it for an incoming freshman. thanks!

What if my mom's sorority is definitely NOT the one I want to join and I know it will upset her if I pledge differently? I am really stressing over this!!

See what happens and if your legacy house keeps inviting you back. Now, if you make it to your legacy house for pref, you will be on their first bid list. What that means is that unless YOU rank another house #1 and that house also has you on their first bid list, you'll get a bid from your legacy house.

If you really know it's not the house for you, make your own decision. We are not our mothers. Yes, it would be cool to share that bond, but you have to pick the sisterhood that's right for you. Just have an honest conversation with your mom about it. She'll understand. And do it before it's too late. If you want to drop your legacy house, drop them.

It's not uncommon by after the second day for girls to know what sororities they like or at least the type of sorority they think they will fit in. Go where YOU feel is right, not where your mom went 30 years ago. Ultimately, you'll regret it if you pledge a sorority for any reason other than because you love it.

PNMs best advice for tonight: look around you when you are outside waiting to go in the house! These are the other women who could be pledging with you at that house in bid day! Do you like them? They will be with you for the next five years.
