adpi rules
by: pnmI've heard a lot that ADPi's have a ton of rules on what they can and can't do on campus and at parties. Is this true? For someone that will be rushing in a fall and would love to rush ADPi specifically, are their rules something that takes away from them having fun?

You clearly don't know how recruitment works. You don't just rush one, specific sorority. You rush all of them. Day 1 you visit all 7 houses, day 2, you visit UP TO 6, day 3 you visit UP TO 4 and pref you visit UP TO 2. Not guaranteeing you will have a full invite list. Each day, you rank which house(s) you would rather not go back to, but it's not really mutual selection. The selection is really on the part of the sororities. If you rank ABC last, and DEF 1st, but DEF doesn't invite you back, but ABC did, you'll still go back to ABC, to fill the spot. The sororities are the ones who do the cutting. And ADPi has historically high return rates, so, they cut a lot of girls early on. The surest way to be really upset about recruitment is to go into it with your mind already made up about which house you want to join. You need to look at all the houses and see which vibe clicks best with you and you need to keep an open mind about all houses.
Now that we have that cleared up, yes, ADPi has a lot of rules. Their 'standards' are very strict. There are a lot of things you cannot do, because it would reflect poorly. Now, all houses have standards, but from what I know, ADPi definitely enforces theirs more than others.

They have a lot of rules and enforce them very strictly. See "no dancing on elevated surfaces." Advisors also attend their events so they aren't very fun. Most girls who go ADPi hate it by their second year because of this and the fact that their sisterhood isn't very strong. Overall, their strictness really takes away from them having fun and their recruitment statistics are reflecting that.

'Yes' has it right. ADPi's events are considered boring around campus. They're like up Sigma Chi's ass, cause Sigma Chi is also boring. And it is true that most ADPis hate it by their 2nd or 3rd year because of the rules, but also because like Yes said, their sisterhood is ehhhh and very cliquey.

Adpi has rules, but that's because we have high standards for our girls! And because we hold ourselves to these standards, we have more fun! I'm an adpi of another chapter, and I'm so proud to be an adpi! Wouldn't you rather be proud of your actions than regret them in the morning! RUSH ADPI!
