Question from an old…

by:

Random but as someone who graduated a while ago, just wondering if certain Greek traditions/events (run of the roses, KA old south, sigma chi derby days, wet friday) are still around at GT?

You have got to be pretty old. Old south is no longer a thing nationally and KA has always been lower tier at GT - from the 60s until today.

They didn't say anything about the tier KA is in... just asked about traditions. Obsessed with ranks much or just feeling insecure today? To actually answer the question - wet friday - yes but its turned into wet weekend. Derby Days - yes, but been through some evolutions as support from sororities has varied, old south phased out nationally, but was still a thing at tech in the early 2000s, and run for the roses - in name only, the event is totally different now

Run for the Roses was ruined by the woke mob in CPC who let the tinyest bit of power go to their head

Yeah, cause forced running from one fraternity house to another, to display yourself in front of all the boys who want to check you out as fresh meat is not demeaning, or intimidating, or embarrassing AF, at all. There were A LOT of complaints from every new member class before it was shut down. That's what hazing in sororities looks like, boys. No.

It wasn't hazing for the boys but was for the girls who were made to do it. Considered hazing by sorority members as well as every nationals and the NPC.

If you don't want to do it don't do it but don't ruin it for others

Well you have an excellent a point there, and that's exactly what happened; none of the pnm's wanted to do it so none are doing it anymore. See how that works? If the frat pledges think it's so much fun then there's nothing stopping them from dressing up and running to all the houses to present themselves for judgement. Go right ahead.
