Hello everyone, ill be rushing next fall

Ok so i know that there are ranks on here but I'm not going to look at those. Ranks don't help me as I don't care very much about social standing so long as the group has some events and the guys are ok.
Can someone describe the usual top 8 that are mentioned here in ranks? Like what kind of opinion do most people have of each, what kind of events do they throw, what kind of guys do they usually rush (jocks, nerds, etc).
I also want to hear about Lambda SN and PhiDelt. My dad was a lambda here in the 90's, my cousins on my moms side either went SN or Phi Delt here. So iguess i have a good shot at these too. How are they?

SN and Phi Delt are both solid houses but different vibes, go check them out and see for yourself. Lambda Chi got shut down in 2019 and won't be back until at least 2024. Wherever you get bids, be sure to base your decision on how well you like the other guys accepting bids there. This will be your close friend group for your time at Tech. You may like the brothers rushing you, but your own pledge class will define 90% of your entire fraternity experience.

SAE/PKA/ATO - whenever any combination of these 3 groups is having an event it is the biggest at tech.
Lower Top
KS/BTP - their houses are big, girls like them, their parties are good. Thats it. All of that gets old and joints are bigger than Betas off campus events and KS's parties.
Upper mid
Fiji/TKE/SX - all 3 are pretty good but going down hill. One or more will probably be over taken by below.
Mid
SN/OX/ChiPhi/PDT - SN ChiPhi and PDT both used to both be lower top to top groups so they can rise again. OX is new to being this relevant.
Lower Mid
SigEp/DX/KA/AEPi - a mix of groups that are relevant for different reasons, SigEp recruits well despite having no social life and being soft. KA and AEPi are always in trouble and DX is another version of beta in a worse house.

Go through rush and make up your own damn mind instead of worrying what everybody else thinks. Go to a bunch of houses and meet people and think for yourself. Stop treating this site as if it is factual. How's that?

Fiji
Pros: super nice house, good grades, athletics, philanthropy, community involvement, really good off campus events. They have good numbers
Cons: guys are super creepy to girls, their on campus events/parties are bad unless they throw joints at a different house. They blanket bid way too many guys who even SN KA or OX won't bid.
Beta
Pros: super nice house, good grades, really good joints, really good off campus events, really good pull, good student government, community involvement, numbers.
Cons: they are super progressive/left leaning which can turn off some guys. They accept openly g@¥ guys to rush and initiate as an example of that, which can be strange for some people. Also super dorky group of guys. They can't throw good on campus events unless they have joints.
Kappa Sig
Pros: super nice house, really good parties, really good off campus events, good community involvement, good numbers, good pull.
Cons: another super dorky group of guys who turn people off due to their IDGAF attitude when it comes to student gov, intramurals, etc. A good social scene is cool but it's ok to care about those other things too.
TKE
Pros: super nice house, good numbers, really good joints, really good on campuses events/parties, good pull.
Cons: they get into trouble a lot, constantly threatened to be put on probation due to grades.
ATO
Pros: super nice house, really good pull, really good parties/joints, good pull and off campus events, close brotherhood, good student government, grades.
Cons: still growing, get in trouble a lot, try VERY hard to get people to recognize them as undisputed #1 like they used to be before they were suspended in 2016.
SX
Pros: good house, really good student government, campus/community involvement, good intramurals, really good off campus events, derby days.
Cons: house is good but old, the fraternity is average sized, guys try VERY hard to get people to recognize them as good, on campus social lives are non existent outside of derby days and occasional joints.
PKA
Pros: really good pull/on campus parties, really good athletically and in student government, good grades, community involvement.
Cons: house is old and dirty, their off campus events are terrible due to their reputation, have a long history of trouble and creeping on girls.
SAE
Pros: very good pull/joints, really good off campus events, parties are good, very good student government, good grades, good numbers, really cool guys.
Cons: not good parties unless they throw joints, house is old and dirty, guys are super soft and their brotherhood is bad. Not a lot of community or philanthropy effort here.

What was the criteria that led you to classify SAE as "soft" lmao? Not an SAE but they might be close to the least "soft" of GT fraternities. Also don't think beta is super left leaning, pretty average for tech imo.

Also why does everyone on here think that cleanliness of the house should be a huge factor for choosing which fraternity ur gonna join. Every house at tech is exceedingly nicer than a school like UGA

FR! KS and BTP are not top, they are on here way too much. ATO/SAE/PKA are the top 3. Ks/btp are the next best then SX Fiji TKE and SN.
