about alpha gam
by: Question/statementWhy do they have such an awful reputation? All the alpha gams I've met are super nice, gorgeous girls. Plus their house is hands down the best sorority house tech has. If I were a girl, no way I would put a phi ahead of alpha gam and I definitely wouldn't feel bad about getting alpha gam instead of one of the "top 4" sororities that tech has. Idk, I'm a freshman, but in my time here it seems like alpha gam is way underrated.

As a guy, I find it very hard to understand how GT people rank sororities when there are only 7 CPC sororities. The "top 4" doesn't mean anything when its out of 7... the 4th best sorority is therefore the 4th worst sorority! With as little sororities as Tech has, it is extremely hard to distinguish what is a "good" sorority and what isn't, other than people saying it's a good sorority. Every single sorority has good looking girls, great philanthropy, involvement.

Since you're obviously an alpha gam.. lemme tell you what's up.
Alpha gam does not have "gorgeous girls" that's not to say there aren't some good-looking girls, but I've never heard anyone describe agam girls as gorgeous. Everyone says alpha gams are nice, but I know two alpha gams and neither of them are that nice. It's kind of something people say when they have nothing else to say. And last of all that house... yea we understand you guys got a really great house and you think that it should improve who you get, but who the eff prefs based on a house? There's a reason aphi gets better girls than you guys despite your guy's mansion towering over their shack.

idk about sorority recruitment but fraternity rush is heavily impacted by the house itself

and as to the "gorgeous" vs. "good-looking" thing, whatever, that's a combination of semantics and the fact that I admittedly have low standards

sorority rush is a whole different ball game, to say. Your pledgeship is way worse, but our rush is way worse. The process is completely different. It's extremely tiring and stressful, all packed into just a few days. And it just functions differently. To pick a sorority based on the house, is just dumb. To pick a fraternity based on the physical house is also kind of dumb.

it kinda just depends on who you like the best. The fraternities almost determine it because the better fraternities ask the better sororities for mixers. And it depends on who you want to hang out with/party with. And yes, there are pretty girls in every sorority, but certain sororities have a larger percentage of attractive girls, and certain sororities have a larger percentage of unattractive/less attractive girls.
