Does the size of your PC matter?

by:

I'm rushing and I know where I want to go already, and luckily the group i like has told me they are giving me a bid. There is another group that also said they want to bid me but im less interested.

The group I'm less interested in knows I want to take my other bid but is telling me that they already have close to 25 guys and that this group im interested is lying to me. They said their house is better (it is but i also like the other groups house) and that house parties arent everything. They also told me that my groups always gets less guys than them for a reason.

My favorite group doesnt have the biggest house but it is nice and idk how many they have but it does seem like somewhere between 15-18 guys. I just like them much better, they never talk about ranks, my GF's an ADPi (shes a year older) who says they like this group, and the videos of their events they show me seem fun.

I'm just worried that what the bigger group is telling me is true and i will be disappointed after rush is over. I also heard that there are groups who steal other fraternities like KS SAE and ATO party videos and claim them as their own.

Does the size of the PC equate to how good a fraternity is?? I won't name the names of these groups but if you guess it right I'll confirm i guess.

The size of the PC doesnโ€™t matter. Just because a PC is big doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™re all quality guys. Could be a quantity over quality sort of deal.

The biggest thing is how much you like the guys in the fraternity and how much you like the ones in your PC.

The only fraternity that steals videos is Fiji. To answer your question no it doesnt matter how big your PC is.

It sounds like Fiji or Beta from how you describe the bigger group tbh ๐Ÿ˜‚ all about numbers, their house, and SUPER defensive about their small house parties ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Im going to guess the fraternity you like is either ATO or SX. Maybe Pike but their house is dirty and not that good lol

The bigger group was Fiji you are right. I didn't like SX too much when I met them.. yes it is ATO.

Why would Fiji warn me about other fraternities stealing videos when they did it lol? Is that true or are you kidding?

I'm a 3rd year girl from Atlanta and have close friends in different fraternities.

The most important consideration for you is how you feel about your fellow pledges. They are going to be the ones who make or break your fraternity experience, not so much the older guys who are currently rushing you. Take a good look at the guys who you would be a pledge with. These are the ones you will be close with in the fraternity, and a handful of those guys will be your best friends, true brothers, to go through 4+ years at a hellishly tough school and will also be together beyond graduation. A smaller size class doesn't mean they aren't quality guys.

IDK who you like, but I do know of one prominent fraternity on campus who limits their pledge classes to around 24 guys or less so they can focus on quality over quantity and have a much more cohesive brotherhood. Other houses reason that bigger = better and bid more guys to that end.

The group you like would not keep you around if they didn't like you, and it would not do them any good to tell you they want to give you a bid when they don't mean it.

As stated already: Trust your gut. Always go with your gut.

That makes sense but I met smaller groups like SX and didn't really like the guys I met so much. Fiji Beta and KS were a bigger fraternities but i seemed to like the guys there better.

I guess it just depends on the person and how they like the guys that are in each group. I prefer a smaller more tight group of guys that I think are cool. If I went to those other groups I mentioned being bigger im sure I'd have fun too.

But yeah ATO being closer due to size and me liking the guy's is what had them as my #1. Fiji was my #2 because I liked their emphasis on grades and athletics (3 year letter varsity football and 4 year letter lacrosse).

ATO isnโ€™t โ€œcloser due to sizeโ€, they literally had guys try to stab each other a couple years back ๐Ÿ˜‚

Is that true? No one told me about that? They seemed like they all liked eachother to me.

Very true, I think it had to do with a girl from what I remember, pretty sure GTPD had to get involved

Go with your gut. I would steer clear of anyone talking about ranks during rush. Big red flag. There are 8 -10 fraternities at GT that all have basically the same stuff - band parties, date nights, tailgates, brotherhood retreats. Choose where you feel like you fit in the best, where you like the brothers and where you like the guys you are pledging with.

And yes it was FIJI that stole the SAE/Beta/ATO joint video from last year as well as a KS video. They are not joking.

With hearing about ATO stabbing eachother (i still have no idea if thats true) and Fiji lying about how social they are, am i completely screwed here?? Am I stuck with 2 groups that are just lying to get guys?

By: Now im scared ๐Ÿ˜‚

ATO is a good choice. What you see with your own eyes is the way things actually are, they all get along. The incident in question happened in 2017 but there was no actual stabbing, just a crazy drunk dude with some ongoing issues. The crazy dude got insanely drunk one night and got triggered by something another brother said about him in a groupchat (these two had ongoing beef) and threatened to stab the other brother. It was de-escalated on the spot by other brothers and handled by police and ATO leadership, and at this point there is an entirely different membership in that chapter. Every now and then somebody colors outside the lines, especially when alcohol and substances are involved, and it is really newsworthy when it happens at a fraternity. GDI's do bad stuff too. You would do really well with a bid at ATO. Congrats.
