Heard the school is going to make an example of Fiji.

Rumor is GT wants to pull their charter but is having trouble working up to it. More than likely they will suspend them for about 2 years and slap them with SoPro for another 2 or 3 years afterwords.
GT REALLLYYY hates greek life, and even though Fiji voluntarily quarantined and followed the rules, they want to start their purge now.
As much as Fiji is on GR being annoying we will all miss them, heck even Pike and KS will probably miss them. I hope the school doesn't try and kill them, but seeing as what happened to Beta when they lost their charter... Its likely Fiji gets the RIP.

I’d heard they were kicked off for 2 years but got it shortened to 1 year by rich alumni. Not sure if Fiji will be able to do something similar but hopefully

I agree we need more sororities but it’s their house that they paid for you can’t just auction it off like that. If girls want a new sorority then they can make one and pay for their own house like everyone else

They would have to pay whoever owns the house. It would be cheaper to just build another one.

Offering up a house does NOT bring in a sorority to a campus. That's not how that works. The existing NPC sororities decide if there is a need for an additional sorority. That won't happen until Theta is more established and all new member classes start getting too big again. So "we" (whoever the tf you are) don't need a new sorority right now. Besides, the process takes two years just to get a new chapter starting up. Also keep in mind that the changing ratio may or may not reflect an increased demand for NPC sororities.

They're in limbo. Until they're let off the hook or suspended or whatever there is nothing they can do. Unless they initiate them into another chapter, other fraternities have initiated their pledges into the UGA chapter before suspension so they can be a part of the group during suspension.

If they’re under investigation they’re probably in a temporary suspension which means they would not be able to do normal chapter functions like initiate pledges

Which is why the UGA or some other Fiji chapter would have to perform it for them.

I obviously don’t know how Fiji works but in my fraternity we would not be able to do that because the pledges were officially pledged to our chapter at our school and so they can’t be initiated elsewhere unless they dropped and transferred schools

So you're fraternity doesn't allow you to be initiated elsewhere and join another chapter eventually? Even if you're taking classes at tech, most fraternities allow you to be initiated in colleges where you arent taking classes at, like Ohio state for example. Well at least mine and 3 others i know of for sure. Some limit it to another chapter in state.

You can join at another school and transfer and then affiliate with the chapter at the school you transferred to but you can’t get initiated at a school you don’t go to. Like I said that’s how my nationals works but obviously that isn’t the case for everyone. It’ll be interesting how this all turns out

My fraternity initiated a PC from a Mississippi chapter that went on suspension last year. Maybe some chapters don't allow it, I guess it all depends.

Got caught with doing several different hazing things. Right now nationals and the school is investigating them, so we won't hear what happens to them until later this month.
