Advice to rushees

by: 4th year

Ignore this site. 90% of what’s posted on here is bs. I’d usually say just rush around different houses during formal rush to get a feel for them, but that might be a little harder this year with the first 3 days being virtual. But a little birdy told me that there will still be some off-campus low key events held outside of formal rush hours to try to get some of the necessary in-person interaction despite IFC’s best efforts to restrict it. Look for those opportunities, go to them, and meet the people in person to form your opinions. This site sucks and is full of bs from Pike and Fiji fighting back and forth over who is less creepy (right answer: it’s both of them). Good luck, freshmen

So you say 90% of the stuff on this site is BS but then go on to bash two fraternities in a message directed towards rushees? Sounds about right.

Only bashing them because everyone’s sick of hearing them fighting like an old married couple on here, my point still stands that rushees should go rush for themselves (yes, including at Fiji and Pike)

Don’t listen to this. Fraternities that are going to have off-campus secret Rush parties during formal rush are violating IFC rules and putting their chapter at risk. If anything avoid those houses at all cost!

Yeah ok, I’m sure rushees are going to get a great feel for the houses by talking to like 3 guys on zoom lmao

Can confirm^ do not listen to this. Just about anyone who has accepted a bid anywhere has been invited and has hung out with the group at some point other than during formal rush hours.

It is different in the summer. During formal rush periods there are different rules. It is all spelled out on the IFC website. Any offsite rush events must be registered. Any fraternity that is willing to roll the dice with this is not anyone you want to be involved with - likely to land on probation if reported. Just stick to regular rush this fall.

Literally I would say that if a frat isn’t throwing off campus stuff during formal rush then they ARE NOT one any cool person would want to be at. IFC rules are made to be broken it’s just so they can pretend like they’re doing things
