Go inactive this Fall?

by: Financially Conservative

With all the regulations that are going to be in place on event size and such. Is anyone thinking about just saving their dollars and not paying outrageous dues this Fall for what will not be that much of an experience. I’d rather just save my money and by alcohol for parties at my apartment.

If all you joined a fraternity for was parties and are shallow enough to leave your group of brothers for your own significantly smaller events on your own lolololol

Idk about anyone elses group but my group is going to save up their cash for off campus events and possibly 2 or even 3 semi formals, as well as go all out on formal.

Also talking about partnering up with another group for a bigger formal or semi formal, and using temperature gauges, masks, and gloves to be sure everyone is as safe as possible.

Not to mention most groups will be sectioned off during these events and not all packed into a single event hall either. Safely distance.

I doubt large off campus events are going to be allowed. Think about it. That’d basically be a slap in the face to efforts everyone else is making. Not to mention terrible PR.

I guess that would depend on how the groups are approaching safety, and whether or not they will be putting everything out there. If they PR HARDCORE before the event and the school is aware of everything getting out of control then it would be a problem. Otherwise as long as there isn't seemingly much of a problem I don't see why they would try and stop it.

how would they stop off campus events anyways?

You guys are entirely missing the point you can do whatever you want. But you’d have to stop all the instagram photos from getting out.

It is selfless though to put others in danger. Yes while me and you might not have much risk we have classmates who are immunocompromised and older professors. It is entirely irresponsible for large social events to be had. Think about others not just yourself.

People are going to go out and put themselves in harm's way anyways, so what's the point in trying to micromanage the 20,000 students who go here. So long as we take all the precautions we can, there isn't any reason why we shouldn't.

So long as temperatures are taken, everyone is in a proper mask and gloves, keeping numbers down to maintain a decent distance, I don't see why we can't hang out.

Going to college is socially irresponsible anyways, I mean you'll be packed into a room with hundreds of people not socially distanced. If these students and professors actually wanted to be safe they would go online, or Tech would offer more online options then they are.

But Tech doesn't give a ____ about any of the students, or older professor's they just want to kill greek life while putting in as minimum effort and time as possible into actually maintaining safety... lolololololololololol

GT is using this as an excuse to kill greek life.

GT DGAF about the students or their professor's. I agree that if they really did care they'd do more to innovate and change the current class environment and set up.
