Resource for PNMs

by:

Check out @lamishaaa on Instagram for a compilation of discrimination by different greek organizations. Every group has its problems of course, but she's done a great job of showing which ones have done what specifically. I would highly recommend checking this out to be wary of issues that you hopefully will not encounter but that are still unfortunately very possible.

I’m not saying her posts and stories aren’t all true because some/most probably are. However, just like Greek Rank all of the stories seem to be anonymous so I would take it with a grain of salt. It could just be a few people that have vendettas against organizations and are leaving out important facts to make a situation seem worse than it really is.

most of the posts are from actual members/old exec so pnms are aware of the past, but also things are in the works of getting so much better because of these posts being brought to light!

Half of the stuff that she has been reporting on for the last few days happened years ago. Most organizations have taken steps to make sure things like that don’t happen again. I realize that there are a lot of problems in Greek Life, but she isn’t even here to know what’s really going on. At first she started this whole thing as a way to make changes now it’s starting to look like a way of bringing up issues that organizations have already resolved or are working on. If she actually cared about change then she would see if change already happened, or if she is just bringing up stuff that has already been taken care of/addressed. She can’t though because she isn’t here to know for herself. For the people that do read her stuff, know that it’s anonymous and can easily be far from the truth. It also appears that a lot of incidents happened years ago.

it is clear things are from years ago, but it is nice to be aware of them as a new member wanting to join greek life at tech or any school

Why do people need to know about stuff that’s 2-3 years old, most people in these organizations were pledges or in highschool when some of these events happened. It sounds like these organizations aren’t even that bad if you can only find dirt on them for things that happened years ago. This just shows that GT is improving.

she is in contact with multiple exec boards and people on IFC/CPC, she hears what's going on in meetings. she is just passing on the message, individuals can post their rebuttals but she doesnt have to do everything

She doesn’t even go here anymore, she dropped out because tech classes were too hard for her and she didn’t really have any close friends. I find that hard to believe

Future people are now at least aware that if they join ADPi or APhi they are joining places where racism is harbored

But remember that the instagram stories don't tell all sides of what happened. If it is something you're concerned about, bring it up during recruitment! If you ask about diversity and a chapter drops you because of it, I don't see what you would want to be a part of a group like that anyway. If they give a vague answer or seem to hesitate, that might be a red flag.
