Theta is your best bet for a COB because they are new and still building their numbers. You can reach out to them and tell them you are interested. As far as the other seven houses, they would only COB in the spring if their total membership dropped below a certain point due to members graduating or taking studies abroad, that kind of thing. What usually happens is they offer these bids to girls they already know and like, who they know are interested. There is never a set number of bids, and sometimes no one COBs at all. The only way to get one is to tell them you are interested and you really need to know some members in the house. Your best bet for a bid to any house is always going to be through formal recruitment.

As the poster above said, Theta will definitely do COB. Other chapters it just depends. My chapter rarely does it but sometimes we have one or two spots open up. If you have friends in sororities you need to express your interest to them so you can get invited to their COB events when and if they have them. Otherwise you can always just rush next fall. I rushed as a sophomore and had no problem!
