how many girls actually get bids?

How many of the girls who go through recruitment actually get a bid? Do some girls drop out halfway through, even though they intend to move forward?

A PNM who goes all the way through to pref round and doesn't suicide will get a bid. TBH, it does happen that a PNM could be released from recruitment if all the houses each feel she is not a good fit, but it's a very small amount. Some girls do drop out of recruitment voluntarily when they decide that sorority life in general is not for them, but PNM's should NOT drop out just because a certain house releases them. No PNM should do that! Don't get your heart set on any one house, be open minded, go to all houses that invite you back, and you will find your home.

To be clear, when they say "doesn't suicide," that means not "suicide rushing", i.e., stating that you will join one house and only that house during pref round. Not, like, the common definition.

I will clarify. The official term for "suicide" in recruitment is Single Intentional Preference. This is when a PNM attends two pref parties and then only puts one of the houses down on her card, rather than ranking both of them. She is stating that she will only accept a bid from the one house. This often does not work out in the PNM's favor and leaves her without a bid anywhere.

Bids is correct. Whereas if you maximize your options and put both pref houses on your pref card (MRABA) you are guaranteed a bid to one of those houses, though it may be your first or second choice. Also if you SIP you are not eligible to be a quota addition.

QA and snap bid are different things.
