greekrank is full of trolls

Dear pnms,

Get off this website. Maybe you are worried about joining a "weird" or "bottom tier" house, but you shouldn't be. At Georgia Tech, no girl is defined by their sorority. Every women here is accomplished and intelligent. If you are involved in Greek life then you are also social. You can hang out at any fraternity that you want to. Boys will not judge you based on your affiliation. Fraternities will want to hang out with you if you are a cute girl with a fun personality no matter which sorority you are in. Mixers invites are not a big deal at all. I don't know why people on this website are trying to act like they are. There are 32 fraternities and 7 sororities currently, so everyone gets invited to mixers. Have enough confidence in yourself to choose the sorority with the women that you see yourself being best friends with. Choosing a sorority just because it is "top" is ridiculous. If you truly believe you are a top tier woman (which you should) then you should not need to choose a place just to validate that belief. Every Greek organization here is full of incredible women. Do not let ignorant people online make you think otherwise. Now, get off this website and register for recruitment (if you haven't yet) because being part of the Panhellenic community is an excellent choice.

This is so true. When I came through recruitment last year I thought I knew what the "top" chapter was on campus so of course that's the one I was all set on. When we actually started going to the houses for rounds I saw that the reality was actually pretty different from my expectations. My "top" did not have a monopoly on the girls that were poised and polished or more accomplished, or prettier, than any other of the houses. I met girls in each house that were sweet, fun to talk to, and absolutely gorgeous. I also met girls in each house that didn't seem to stand out one way or another. The house that began to feel like "home," the one I could see myself in and being surrounded by these wonderful girls, ended up not being that "top" house. In the end I had a choice between those two houses, and was kind of torn, but ended up going with my heart. It was absolutely the right thing to do. I am soooo happy in my wonderful house, had an amazing first year at Tech, and am so proud of the letters I wear.
