by: NewbieWhat are the reprecussions of joining a fratermity that is not recognized by GMU?
#3 by: More Truth
Joining a group is about finding people who share your ideals, goals and values. If you fit with a certain group of people, you will be happier associating with those people over the long run. If you make a choice based on other peoples values or beliefs, you will find the fraternity experience to be frustrating.

Unfortunately, if they did something bad enough to be kicked off campus, it's safe to assume their values are less than ideal. That being said, if they're the group you fit best with despite their disciplinary past and the implications it means for your future, then you should join. In the end it's the brotherhood that stays with you for life, not the campus rep.
