sophomore rush
by: SophomoreI'm a rising sophomore and I'm pretty set on rushing this year. Can anyone tell me honestly what rush is like as a sophomore and if my options are more limited? Thanks!

You didn't specify..but I'm going to respond as if you're rushing a sorority and not a frat.
You should totally do it! From my experience (at least in my chapter), sophomores have no problem bonding with their own pledge class, and it's fun to see where you end up and who you've already met in your chapter!
I'm not sure about all of the recruiting rules of each chapter, but because many, many BU girls don't join greek life until their sophomore year, I don't think you would be put at a disadvantage because you're one year older.

All of the fraternities are cool with sophomore rushees..speaking from experience. You'll pretty much be looked at the same way the freshmen are and it'll be about how well you get along with the guys. Sophomore spring is essentially the cutoff for the top ones though

^ I definitely agree! In my pledge class, it's often hard to distinguish who's a sophomore or freshman due to our tight-knit group. And besides, a one year class difference doesn't matter at all. I'm sure other sororities feel the same way.
