Advice for Upcoming Recruitment

to all the freshmen and sophomores thinking about rushing this year, know that while it’s ultimately your decision, a lot of what goes on behind the scenes in recruitment is not what you’re led to believe. there are incredibly shady and classist tactics like researching your zip code to see your affluence, looking up your pictures to see if you’re attractive enough, dirty rushing and pre-selecting girls from wealthy private schools, etc. additionally, even if a sorority appears diverse it’s often trying to make up for lack of class diversity. my advice is be careful and don’t believe everything you see. you’re more than some letters and are worthy and beautiful regardless of which sorority you do or don’t join!
