types of greek life

I saw at splash today a bunch of sororities/frats that weren't listed on here. Whats the difference between them and the like official ones on here?

Off campus frats are not affiliated with BU, think of it more of a social club with your group of guy friends. No philanthropy/charity events are involved. It is tough to plan parties with sororities, and you can’t really write about it on a resúme. Definitely join a fraternity that is on campus.
