have you ever heard of opa?

by:

Hey guys,
Has anyone else been to OPA and had amazing time? Me and my friends went the first couples weeks of last semester and honestly had a great time. The guys are really classy and I generally feel safe in the OPA house. The bar is always stocked and they have grey goose!! The DJ is hot but also plays the best music!

If any of you are looking for a new place to party, definitely check out OPA!

I'm sorry, but I think I should defend OPA, and no this is NOT a self rank. I have honestly had a great time at OPA every time I've been there, my girls and I love it! And to me the brothers aren't sketchy, they're just different. They're Greek, so when they speak a different language don't assume they're just being creepy or weird.

I have to agree with whoever started this post, they do play really good music and their basement is extremely well done. They also are gentlemen. One of my friends got really sick one night and multiple brothers brought her water and waited for her to sober up. They are good guys!!

My only complaints are that the house is kind of dirty and that its often very very crowded. They do let in weird people sometimes and when you're not in the mood to get hit on it can be annoying.

Other than that I fully enjoy OPA!

I'm so confused. I had never even heard of them until I saw it on one guy's facebook the other day. What is their deal? Is it a coincidence that their letters are OPA and they have some Greek guys? OPA!

Again not a self rank, however I talk to alot of the OPA guys and know them pretty well. Referring back to some of the other comments, OPA is not just a group of guys with a house who party. From what I learnt they have 2 other chapters which are fully recognized, one at university of miami and another at mcmaster university. They are trying extremely hard to become recognized by BU and they do have philanthropy events. They are a culturally greek fraternity and being Greek myself I am really happy for these guys and all the hard work they have done. I hope they will soon become recognized by BU. They are a national non-profit too which all the founders of this fraternity worked extremely hard to achieve so just because BU does not recognize them does not make them sketchy or illegitimate.

This is my third year at Boston University and being underage, hanging out at fraternities is pretty common for me.
One conclusion I have drawn being around all this time (and reading BU today) is that the quality of the fraternity has little to do with being recognized or "old". I mean, lets not forget the frat that was caught having the kids (who where found in shocking condition) tied in a basement, hazed as hell. Or the sorority who was caught to haze through alcohol abuse.
Is that what recognition guarantees for? All I have seen their headquarters doing is making shirts! Damn those people have new shirts every month.
I went to OPA for the first time last year (they where living in a different house) and I liked them more than other douchy frats. Their president is the really down to earth and welcoming (he was greeting everyone, including me, at the party). He explained me that he wants to spread the Ancient Greek ideals to Greek life.
That's all I have to say, generally I have great respect for people who have a dream and start something of their own (other than finding an existing frat)
Who hasn't seen "Old School"...

Hi everyone !
I went to Boston once with a friend, and we ended up at the OPA house. It was our first frat party and it was not what we expected at all... It was way BETTER !! People there are welcoming, they are fun and love good parties.
We had an amazing time and will go back to boston to see them again definitely.
BTW, girls don't have to dress like Btches and boys were just friendly, what a good point for a girl going to a frat house !

okay OPA isn't a real frat, thats true. but everyone knows OPA is damn rowdy and a great time. the brothers are foreign but they are all super chill and you really do see the "greek hospitality" with all the guys greeting whoever comes in. they always have a stocked bar and great music. even if they aren't recognized who cares because they're a good time.
