every 2017 pnm should read this
by: True sorority girlHi everyone. Coming from someone in a sorority at BU, I just want to clear the air and help out anyone who is planning to rush in the spring of 2017. When I was an incoming freshman last year, I knew I wanted to rush. I looked at this website A LOT, and i'll admit that I was totally sucked in to reading all these post. I went into recruitment completely stuck on one or two sororities based on this website. I ended up getting to the last night of rush with BOTH of those houses, as well as a third house that I previously didn't want to be in. All I could think about was those two "top" houses, but I knew in my mind that the other third option was actually best for me! I chose them in the end and it was the best decision of my life. I'm not gonna lie to you and say that nothing on here was true. Obviously there are some things that you will see during rush that match what people say on here, but mostly its just girls ranking their own sorority as top, and bashing others to make them look bad. I will say this in all caps so you get it in your head, NO ONE CARES IF YOU ARE IN A "top house"! Even if a house has a bad rep, if you as an individual are a cool amazing person, people will like you and won't exclude you just because of what house you're in. Choose whats best for you because if you just go by these ranking you might end up dropping and not getting to experience the amazing things a sorority could offer. Lots of love, and good luck :)

I'm in one of the top 3 sororities (I won't say which) and I agree with a lot of things you said. However I feel like this post is unfairly judgmental towards the "top tier" sororities, probably because they don't really know enough about us to get the bigger picture of each sorority. I will say that while I would have been equally as happy in a middle tier sorority, I wouldn't change where I ended up for the world. I never expected to get to know so many incredible women and sisters. Every sorority has their good and bad parts, but I promise there's way more to it than just tiers and reputations. A top tier may not be right for you. If it is, don't miss out on a potential lifelong sisterhood out of fear that you won't be accepted. If a sorority wants you that means they felt a bond and will welcome you with open arms! If you can see them as your future bridesmaids then they're probably the one :)
