formal/informal recruitment
by: New comerI'm transferring to FGCU in the spring of this year as a sophomore. I want to rush but can't decide if I should wait until junior year to go through formal recruitment or just do it in the spring for informal? Any suggestions?

I'd say both. Usually only one or two sororities do spring rush, it only depends on how much room they have left. Do spring rush, and if you don't like the sororities once you meet them, then do fall formal recruitment. Keep an open mind though and don't worry about getting top house.

I agree, rush in the spring and if you are not sold then go for the fall. Either way you will learn a lot and meet some nice girls. Keep an open mind and rush the house that fits who you are and not what everyone thinks.

Thanks for replying! I'll consider doing both! How does informal recruitment work? I'm familiar with formal recruitment in the fall, is it similar to that?
