freshman 2018

i just got accepted to fgcu and i wanted to know everything possible about the sororities on campus before i make my final decision on both the school and whether or not i wanted to rush. Literally any information would be great because I’m completely clueless. Thanks :)

Congrats on being accepted! Here's what you should know:

Recruitment lasts around 6 days and includes:
1. Orientation
2. Sisterhood round I
3. Sisterhood round II
4. Philanthropy
5. Preference
6. Bid Day

Each day you will talk to women from every sorority. Through mutual selection, the sororities will narrow down to the one that is the best fit for you by bid day. Recruitment is the time to be yourself, and let your personality shine through.

Once you accept a bid, you'll be considered a pledge. You'll learn more about the history and values of the organization you're joining. You'll get a big. There is NO hazing involved in the pledge process.

Once you're initiated, congrats. You're a lifelong sister, go wild.

Only downside to fgcu is no greek housing. but it's also a good thing because it keeps our dues under $1000.
