Greek life at fgcu is kind of joke… most of the people I know in Greek life have gotten dropped from their chapter over stupid things they didn’t previously have knowledge even after doing the things to fix it or they drop from Greek life because it’s more of a chore than reward, and if you can make it through Greek life here without getting fined good luck. For the amount you pay in my opinion it’s not worth it. Coming from someone decided to drop during rush because I didn’t want to deal with paying over half my tuition to say im in a sorority I still ended up basically still having a pretty “Greek life” college experience and still went on formals and semi’s and socials and ended up being close friends with a lot of the girls in a particular sorority and after hearing everything I wasn’t upset with it. In my opinion if you really want to, go for it. But it’s not worth it if you’re thinking it’s going to be like the major Florida or southern colleges because this school doesn’t really facilitate it.

Greek life at FGCU is great. The people are more genuine than at other schools because it's a smaller campus but it is def getting more competitive every year.

FGCU is a small new school. Not many students compared to other larger schools. The school itself also does not seem to be very supportive of greek life in general. Clubs and other organizations get so much more support from the school. Once the school grows so will greek life.

being apart of greeklife at fgcu has been one of the most amazing experiences ever. it is a lot less superficial than some of the bigger southern schools like fsu, ole miss, lsu, etc. the only downside is that we have no greek housing (yet) and it isn't as competitive as it should be. nevertheless, to somewhat relevant and exposed to the social scene being apart of greeklife is almost mandatory. also, dues are a lot lower which is a huge plus and a reason why a lot of people don't join. the upside is that you can always join your organization of choice, and transfer to a better chapter if it's not a fit!
