theta stereotype?
by: PnmProbably sounds shallow, but what exactly is the theta stereotype? I'm rushing in the spring and really like all of the girls I've met from this group so far, but they all seem very different, and a lot of sororities seem to have more defined reputations on campus. Not exactly a bad thing theta's isn't dead-set, but I'm wondering what the majority of thetas are most known for? Lol

Theta does not have a clear stereotype since it is made up of such a diverse group of girls. You have some quieter girls, some more extroverted, some who are loud about their faith, and others not as much. But, with so much diversity it is obvious that the girls of this chapter are accepting of one another despite their differences and are very chill in the sense that nobody takes anything too seriously. It's a very "go with the flow" kind of group.

My roommate is a Theta and I've really got to see how different they are. Not better or worse just depends on what you are looking for. They are very comfortable in their own skin so they aren't jealous of each other and petty. So they appreciate differences. They are serious about school and driven. They tend to be the more successful professionals after graduation and less stay at home moms. And neither of those things are better than the other-- just different. That's why it's so hard to rank sororities. It depends on what you are looking for. If you feel comfortable there that should be your first clue.

Re: #1 Reply- I doubt that Theta girls were interested in K or PP. So not rejects! That's horrible to say. Two roommates are Thetas, one is a legacy and the other loves her sisters (and everyone). Sweet, funny, involved in lots of organizations at BU, smart, accepting,etc. all around great ladies!!!!!!!

theta is a diverse group of girls. "top tier" is a stretch but by no means are they a bad group in the rankings! I have lots of good friends and theta who are smart and nice. what disappoints me about them is two of my closest friends are in it and they went through some awful stuff and the girls were so mean to them. one of them quit the group because they were so mean to her. Another is still in it but hates it, it's obvious these girls constantly stab each other in the back. I don't know what goes on in this group but I know my closest friends have had horrible experiences. knowing what I know through friendships, if I were a freshman in your shoes I wouldn't rush them. but find out for yourself!

You are horrible for bashing Theta. I doubt your story is true!!!!!!!!! You are in another sorority and just want to put down a wonderfully caring group of sisters! May God forgive you for your obvious immature nature

seriously so many thetas are on this site you can tell by the down votes on this post! no other sororities care as much about Greek Rank as theta

These people probably just made friends with the wrong people and Im so sorry that happened. For the majority, thetas are kind to everyone and supportive of everyone. It is a very diverse group of girls and everyone embraces and accepts that! In any giant group of girls there will be a few "mean girls" but with complete honestly I think the majority of theta is so kind to one another.

theta girls are up there wit Pi phi and kappa. Don't agree with the loose comment. Nice girls. Maybe because they can hold an intelligence conversation with a bit of flirtation is seen as loose. Not the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
