traditional fraternities

I think I've gotten a sense of this my first semester at Baylor, but can we have a discussion about which fraternities would fit in at state schools and which ones only fit in at Baylor?

Hardly any would be traditional state school fraternities, and most of the large chapters at Baylor are the same size or smaller than lower middle tier houses at Texas. ATO might be roughly the size of a solid middle tier UT chapter, but they are a lot weirder. No housing, small chapters and a weird campus perspective on what's cool makes Baylor's Greek system a lot weaker than other private universities in Texas like SMU and TCU that have state university-ish chapters.

Depends on what state school we are taking about here.

Texas, UGA, and Ole MIss are the three best greek schools in America....so you can't really compare Baylor to UT or any of the others.

Now as far as Tech, A&M, Okie State, ect. well Baylor is pretty similar.

The only real difference at Baylor is that we are not allowed to have houses and some of the dorkier groups (ATO, Phi Chi) are considered "cool" here by Baylor girls.

In terms of which Fraternities would belong at a state school....

You could take the majority of the guys in SAE, Phi Delt, SigEp, or Delt and throw them into a SEC schools fraternity system and they would not miss a beat.

About half of KOT and Kappa Sig would also fit in well at a big greek school.

Most of ATO, Phi Chi, Beta, Pi Kapp, and TKE would get laughed out of the room if they tried to join an Ole Miss chapter.
