getting into the right sorority

by: Iowa

Does where you're from and if you have legacy affect if you get into a sorority? I am from Iowa and do not have legacy in any of the sororities but I feel like I'm a pretty good candidate. My GPA is high; I'm a cheerleader and do a lot of volunteer work. I like to go out and am super outgoing. So can I still get into one?

Yes you can! It's just important to be getting to know members of different sororities!! :)

Yep....no one really cares where you are from if you are cool, good looking, nice, ect.

It might help if you where from Highland Park and your mom was a alumni member...but it won't really matter much.

Baylor has girls from all over the country.

It won't matter. Baylor has 40% from out of state. I have a friend at A&M and there is only 1 girl in her pledge class not from Texas-- and almost all from Houston, Dallas,Austin area. But Baylor is much different. It will be fine

Being from out of state doesn't matter at Baylor. Half of Baylor is from out of state. We aren't a state school. Baylor attracts from all over the country. I really think that is why we are one of the only schools in Texas that have Spring rush-- so we can get to know the freshmen. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of my pledge class were from out of state and all my roommates are. It will be fine
