back on campus

by: KD

Heard that the paperwork for KD to come back on campus has been turned in and approved. Anyone else hear that or something different?

no....but that does not surprise me

Terrible idea though....the number of sororities we have now is perfect.

No, but DZ has

Really? You would think that Baylor would hit up Phi Mu or Delta Gamma over DZ. Kappa Delta is good in the deep South but it was major struggle bus when it was here.

DG will never be on campus as long as Tam is in charge (she used to be a DG so it's to avoid bias), otherwise they would be a good fit.

Baylor is not open for extension, so no one, including KD or DZ has submitted any kind of "paperwork." If Baylor ever decides to open back up, there is a formal process, and it will likely be well publicized. Don't waste your time speculating unless and until that ever happens.

I am heartsick at so many girls going through rush and not having enough spots for them all. We need another one! We have WAY less sororities than other Texas schools with the same number of PNMs.

There are enough spots for every girl that makes it to Pref. Apparently you don't know how quota works so let me explain. Let's say 800 girls attend Pref parties. Quota will be 800 divided by 8 (the number of sororites we have) which is 100. Every girl that goes to Pref gets a spot somewhere.

If we had 800 girls attend Pref parties and we have 9 sororities on campus, quota would be around 88 (800 divided by 9). This would actually increase competition for top groups.

I'm just going through rush this year so it is very confusing. I didn't really understand all that and how quota works so thanks! But I am still heartsick for some of my friends that didn't make it to pref day. They would've been great sisters for anyone!

If someone doesn't make it to Pref, it's usually due to grades, reputation or not having recs. Sororities here are picky, even AXO and ADPi.

If someone doesn't make it to Pref, it's because of grades or because they didn't get the group they wanted and dropped out. They thought they "didn't fit" with the groups they had left (in other words, they thought they were too good for certain groups).

The is a reason most Baylor sororities are good...........vs just the top 6 or so at UT, Aggie, TCU.

The more sororities.....the more bad groups.

Keeping the number small keeps the chapters good.

Imagine if Baylor only had 8 fraternities instead of 15.....they would be a lot better.

KD was terrible. Terrible leadership, terrible chapter. I hope they're gone for good.

We have just the right number of sororities. I think that the new grading system really changed up things this year.

Things are fine the way they are, with the sororities we have. However, it the school continues to grow in population, might need to consider adding another sorority.
