rushing as a minority

I'm an Indian girl but I'm pretty good looking and was really involved in high school (cheer leading, SCA, volunteering, etc.). Is it worth rushing at Baylor for me? Will top sororities even consider a brown girl or will I be stuck with weirdos? Also, how do recs work?

You can for sure get a bid from a good sorority for being a minority. In fact, some might even make it easier for you to get in if you're a minority. You should get a rec letter for each sorority AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Panhellenic doesn't make the timing seem too important but it really is. For more info on recs, honestly it's easiest to talk to someone one on one if you don't understand it. Most girls who rush will have their moms do it for them, so you might have to plan more if that's not the case for you.

Baylor sororities care about being preppy, rich, from a good school, ect.

They don't really care about race.

All the sororities have taken minorities before.

If you're cool, smart, from a good high school, dress well, ect.....then you should have no problem.

There's always the multicultural sororities, they're real popular at Baylor!

Wouldn't you rather be part of a group that loves you for you even if they aren't the top sorority. Because what you join needs to be the best for you!
