Questions about legacy and rec letter

I’m an incoming freshman. I’m a legacy at one of the sororities on campus that I’m potentially interested in. Am I supposed to let them know ahead of time? Should I get a rec letter that mentions I’m a legacy? Does legacy matter to any of the on campus sororities anymore?

I know girls who were legacies of all different houses who got cut from their legacy chapter. Not to scare you at all with that but legacy status almost means nothing now. You should meet a lot of girls and see who you vibe with.

For my chapter, we still took note of it! You should definitely let them know just in case, because if anything it’ll just show them you’re interested in them!

i rushed last year and on the resume we submitted to panhellenic we were supposed to indicate legacies. my mom was in the same sorority i am now in but i dont think it has that big of an impact. i do know i was reached out to by girls because of my legacy status. but it isnt a factor in whether they actually take you. good luck!
