dirty rushed and dropped by pi phi

by:

so i rushed pi phi really hard this last semester. around the beginning of december i was told that “everyone loved me” and that “i’d be a great fit for their chapter” and told that i would sign on a house after rush. as any pnm that was being promised by their top house would, i got super excited and i stopped making efforts towards the other houses i was originally interested in. fast forward to rush, i got invited back for philanthropy. everything goes great, girls that i felt like i genuinely connected with came and talked to me and i just felt loved by the actives. they dropped me going into sisterhood. i have no clue what happened but am honestly heartbroken. i was also cut by the other chapters i was pursuing at first. thankfully i still have one awesome chapter left that i’m hopefully getting a bid from but i can’t help but wonder what could’ve been :/

Oh man I am so sorry to hear that. Sometimes things like this work out better in the end than you may think. Give the sorority that you have left a chance, and if it isn’t right, you can drop. Hoping today and tomorrow go well for you!

When your top house tells you that you’re in, why would you bother rushing others? How is a freshman supposed to know that these houses are lying to them?

why call someone stupid when theyre being emotionally manipulated into only going for one chapter. why not direct angry efforts into the flawed recruiting system that piphi has. they're stupid. i hope you got what you were hoping for pnm

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Some chapters do that to boost their rush numbers (a horrible practice). I was dirty rushed last year by a different chapter and when I was dropped, I was so heartbroken. I was directly told to not bother rushing anyone else so I only had one other chapter left on pref. I remember seeing that I only had that chapter and sobbing, it was that bad. This was a chapter I’d had through rush but never really paid any attention to but I gave them a chance and I’m so glad I did. Even though I didn’t put any effort into them and acted like I was too good for them, they wanted me. And one semester later, I am so happy that I get to say I’m a tri delta. Sometimes I do wonder if would get to hang out with cooler frats and if I would have some kind of prestige if I had gotten that other bid, and yeah it does suck that I didn’t get into a super exclusive chapter. But what I’ve found here is exactly what I’ve needed. Give this other chapter a chance!

This other chapter sees something in you that pi phi didn’t. Honestly, it’s their loss and you’re better off joining a group that values you for you. No amount of popularity/exclusivity could make me change my chapter now. I’m a proud “Harry Potter girl”, and I hope that one day you’ll be just as proud of whatever chapter you end up in.

This is ridiculous. If you stopped trying, then it's on you. No way this is real, just someone starting stuff for Pi Phi. Sure they dirty rush and it's wrong but recruitment leaders REPEATEDLY tell you not to fall in this trap. I think this is fake, and again, if you literally quit trying with other houses it's your fault. It isn't Fall, so our girls get a big opportunity to learn a lot about each chapter throughout the semester.

“Sure they dirty rush and it’s wrong but —-“

awful!! a pnm felt there was a relationship and was assured a bid! Do better!!! More accountability is needed.

Please do not repeat my words back to me out of context to try to prove your point. I am NOT excusing dirty rushing at all. The point is that EVERY freaking where you turn, there are people helping with recruitment telling you not to cruise through thinking you've got a bid somewhere. Dirty Rushing sucks, but this person, who very well be making this up, has accountability too. A well prepared and thoughtful PNM goes hard in ALL the houses.

i DID go hard in all of the houses until early december when i was offered, and i figured since it was so late in the semester it wouldn’t matter. thank you for trying to invalidate my experience though, i just want pnms to be able to look and see this so the same doesn’t happen to them

Your experience is invalid because it’s a flat out lie. Dirty rushing is covered multiple times and we are college students who, presumably have some common sense. This isn’t 1990 either.

Also, you would have reported this and something would have been done about it. I can assure you this hasn’t been reported to anyone, and nobody believes your way of dealing with it was posting on GreekRank and responding to your own post over and over. This is a mostly dead site with a few gdis and trolls so which are you really.

PS if I’m wrong go ahead and report it and I will happily admit to Panhellenic who I am. Lol. I’ll be waiting a while I’m sure.

How does my response invalidate your experience, pray tell? You quit trying when you shouldn't have. Experts EVERYWHERE were telling all of you NOT to do that. Don't you have some accountability? Put some blame on your own shoulders, too. If you are even real and not a troll. Because, dang, you had real people telling you not to do exactly what you did, but you come to this ridiculous website to anonymously call out a sorority? Good plan.

Can you stop going after this poor girl? I know from personal experience that Panhellenic barely does anything when you report dirty rushing. The chapter might get a small fine but other than that nothing happens. Plus, no amount of fine can change the hurt from getting bid promised and dropped. Spamming this poor girl with hateful messages calling her a liar and trying to make her feel bad is just cruel. We all make mistakes

Oh please. Hopefully she's not on this stupid website anymore, if she's even really a PNM. Surely she's working hard at the "awesome" chapter she has left. And it's not "hateful" to point out the obvious...it ain't a done deal until it's a done deal. You and your ilk care more about low-key slamming Pi Phi than you do some anonymous person. So why don't you "stop"?

Also, Pi Phi is the sorority I have the least amount of friends in. I hope they get in a lot of trouble if they are dirty rushing this time. Surely you find it a little suspicious that some random girl is whining about them during recruitment on an anonymous website, though. Also, as someone else mentioned, no one is holding this person accountable for doing the exact opposite of what every single person in the know recommends.

You "rushed Pi Phi really hard"? WTF? PNMs don't get to do this. Chapters do the rushing.
