Honest opinion of kappa
by: pnmCan someone please give me an honest opinion on kappa? The other pnms I’ve talked to say that they’re top but all I hear is negative things about them on this site. What’s up with that?

they do a good job of putting out a polished image and going after a specific kind of rich, put-together girl. Unfortunately a lot of them are just unkind and shallow people, and after the dust settles it becomes clear what makes a "good" sorority-- and it's not daddy's money

In my opinion no. They think it gives themselves a boost but most people don’t give a rat’s ass

agreed w above comment. someone not in greek life likely doesnt know the difference between any sorority. plus if youre rushing to boost your 'status' you're not rushing for the right reasons (maybe you would fit right in w kappa)

I’m not looking for a social boost! I was just wondering if there was a valid reason to join that I was missing. They have some pretty serious stuff being said about them on here and they’re not super welcoming in person either, so i was mainly just curious about what their hook is!
I’ve been on some rush dates with them
but I don’t like them a ton and I want to make sure I’m not making a big mistake by choosing a different sorority.

If kappa isn’t a top, then is pi phi the only top chapter? What chapters are top according to you? Adpi?? Lie all you want but top chapters are hardest to get a bid from and every year tons of girls get cut from kappa

imagine thinking kappa is it. girls originally want them because they’re seen as the most stereotypical girly type sorority but it’s just a bunch of shallow girls who come from old money. find a sorority with substance if you want to not be miserable

Old money is exactly the reason why kappa is elite. Like it or not, not everyone can claim that kind of prestigious background. That’s why kappa has the best connections even after you graduate. And what do you mean “originally want?” Girls want kappa period. Anyone who says they don’t were either dropped and bitter or lame.

Kappa is not everyone's golden ticket. I cut Kappa after Sisterhood because it wasn't the right fit for me. Social status (or the perception of) is the worst reason to base your decisions on.

Honestly pnms have no idea what they’re talking about. They’re just parroting what people in sororities tell them, so not the most reliable source. There are only three “top” sororities at Baylor this year and kappa isn’t one of them. The only sorority that has any kind of clout for holding their position for this long would be pi phi.

Do you think that being a kappa gives someone any kind of benefit (like a social boost)? Since they specifically target certain girls, is it true that they’re a group for popular girls?
