A note to PNMs from a senior active

Hi PNMs,

Good luck this upcoming week. You will all do fantastic! My freshman year, recruitment was tough because all of the girls were talking about which houses they dropped and got invited back to, and it leads to a lot of hurt feelings.

You probably will get dropped by a chapter. But that doesn’t mean anything about who you are as a person. The process is tough, long, and emotional, but remember your self worth doesn’t have to lie in your sorority or whether or not you are in a sorority.

There are smart, nice girls in every sorority. There are “nerdy” girls in every sorority. There are really biblical girls in every sorority. There are partiers in every sorority. Most of the “stereotypes” you see on this website are made up or outdated. You cannot put 300 women together and define them using two sentences.

Keep your head up, be intentional walking into every room, and show your best self. We want you in our chapter as much as you want to be in a sorority. We are so excited to meet you and love you. Try to limit discussing chapter negatively with your friends. It will just lead to hurt feelings. Every chapter at Baylor has something really special to offer you, just as each of you has something to special to offer us.
