to the girl going through rush

by:

if you get cut from your favorite sorority, it’s not the end of the world. I thought it was when i got cut from my top choice. i ended up in a sorority i never thought much about until the end of the recruitment process and i can say i’ve met my best friends in that sorority. i thought choosing a sorority based on popularity mattered thanks to the posts on greekrank but it doesn’t. if you think it does, you might end up miserable in your sorority. find the sorority with girls who you feel comfortable with and you will have the best time ever. I promise you people don’t care much about tiers other than the girls rushing & the actives on greekrank.

! this mindset is so important! If you find yourself unhappy with your schedule, don't stay discouraged. My honest advice is to go through recruitment all the way until pref day at the least. If you really dont find yourself fitting in with the chapter(s) you have left, you don't have to join one!
There are Always Many unanswered questions during recruitment, on both sides. please have some grace towards yourself, and remember that your worth is NOT determined in the greek letters on a bid day invitation.
Cheer when you need to, cry when you need to, but always put your best foot forward.

FOR REAL! join the chapter you feel welcomed to. the top houses are so subjective at baylor because each one provides different pros and cons. don’t rely on greekrank entirely but understand the reputations of each sorority and which reputation you would care having if that does matter to you. it is so much better to pick a chapter by how you see the girls in there treat each other because that is how you’ll be treated in the chapter as well. also, if you see a chapter bid promising girls, that’s a red flag and i'd avoid them at all costs.

this is so important about the dirty rushing. if you have to promise anything to pnms, it shows desperation. chio already got caught bid promising pnms this year and kappa, house promising… pi phi usually gets put into the dirty rushing category but i haven’t heard them doing anything this year which is good.

i think some people need to be reminded of this. the most important thing in greek life is that you find a group of girls who make you feel at home.
